Henkel Adhesive Technologies has developed a solvent-free adhesive system that is tailored to applications with high thermal loads - in particular retort packaging for pet food, for example.
With Loctite Liofol LA 7837 / LA 6265, Henkel Adhesive Technologies presents a solvent-free, aliphatic adhesive system for applications with high thermal loads - especially for retort packaging, for example for pet food. The system combines food safety with reliable processing and also contributes to CO₂ savings by reducing material consumption and eliminating the energy-intensive drying step required for solvent-based products. The system is suitable for both PET/aluminium/CPP packaging and modern polyolefin structures.
Low material and energy consumption
The new adhesive system fulfils the strict requirements of global brand owners. Its low application weight enables more efficient processing in production. The The absence of solvents also makes the energy-intensive drying step superfluous. Room temperature curing is sufficient, which actively reduces material and energy consumption.
The focus of the system is on Reliable processing even at high machine speeds and under varying conditions - a decisive Advantage for internationally standardised packaging processes. The high processing stability in combination with compatibility with common laminating machines supports an efficient and uncomplicated changeover to the solvent-free system. The system is not only suitable for retort packaging in the pet food industry, but also for ready meals, microwave products and pharmaceutical packaging.
