The Food and Beverage Carton Alliance (FBCA) has announced that Lamipak has been accepted as a full member of the alliance. The company, which offers aseptic packaging solutions with sites in China and Indonesia, was unanimously confirmed at this year's General Assembly. The aim of joining is to strengthen the global voice for recyclable packaging.
Lamipak was founded in 2007 and today supplies customers in more than 80 countries with packaging solutions. As a member of the FBCA, the company aims to support the mission of establishing fibre-based food and beverage packaging as safe, circular and low-carbon solutions.
Alliance with global reach
FBCA Director General Sebastian Bartels said the addition of Lamipak was an important signal: "The company's expertise and ambition will accelerate the joint work and strengthen the role of cartonboard packaging in contributing to resilient food systems.
Lamipak also sees its membership as a strategic step. Anton Hui, Country Managing Director of Lamipak Indonesia, emphasised that participation in the global association is an expression of the company's long-term commitment to sustainable packaging. The company wants to contribute its expertise in order to develop practical solutions together.
With Lamipak, the alliance now includes Billerud, Elopak, SIG Group, Stora Enso and Tetra Pak. The FBCA emerged from the merger of the ACE and EXTR:ACT organisations and sees itself as a global platform that brings together manufacturers of food and beverage cartons and their paper suppliers.
