Wisecap and Corvaglia are pooling their expertise in the European production of plastic and aluminium closures. The agreement includes the integration of the Corvaglia site in Eschlikon into Wisecap's production network and a minority stake in Corvaglia.
Wisecap Group and Corvaglia Group have agreed a strategic industrial partnership that will reorganise the European production of beverage closure systems. Wisecap is taking over the production activities of Corvaglia Closures Eschlikon AG and integrating them into its network with sites in Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Poland and Egypt. In return, Corvaglia becomes a minority shareholder in Wisecap and continues to supply technology, mould making and design expertise.
With the merger, both companies aim to accelerate their innovation cycles and improve technical support for bottlers. In future, customers will benefit from a broader portfolio that combines Wisecap's industrial capabilities with Corvaglia's expertise in the development and manufacture of injection moulds. According to the company, this strengthens the flexibility of supply in Europe and Wisecap's position as a comprehensive provider of closure solutions.
Integration of production in Europe, technology development remains at Corvaglia
In future, Corvaglia will concentrate on technology development and mould construction at its headquarters in Eschlikon. The combined closure production for the EMEA market will be operated by Wisecap. The companies emphasise that the changeover will take place without interruption for existing customers.
Globally, Corvaglia will continue to operate independently. In the USA and Mexico, the company will continue to offer the full range of services from design and mould construction to closure production. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
