PAKi Logistics is acquiring the Spanish pallet pooling company Poolback from Rotom, thereby strengthening its market position in Spain and Portugal. The aim is to expand a harmonised, pan-European open pooling system for load carriers.
PAKi Logistics, an open pooling service provider for Euro pallets and part of the Faber Group, is expanding its presence on the Iberian Peninsula with the acquisition. The company is integrating Poolback into its existing network, aiming to make cross-border logistics processes more efficient.
Integration into existing structures
The existing customer relationships and operational structures of Poolback are to be retained and integrated into PAKi Logistics' Europe-wide system. This allows the company to combine standardised processes with local market knowledge, according to the statement. The aim is to improve the availability and predictability of load carriers while simultaneously reducing administrative expenditure in the supply chain.
Digital solutions like the eVoucher system are also intended to help reduce paper-based processes and make the exchange of pallets across national borders more transparent.
Harmonisation of European Supply Chains
With the acquisition, PAKi Logistics aims to achieve greater harmonisation of Euro pallet pooling across Europe. Uniform quality standards and data-based control are intended to reduce the complexity of international supply chains and increase supply security.
The open pooling system allows for the multiple use of load carriers and reduces empty runs. According to the company, this helps to increase transport efficiency and reduce the CO₂ footprint along supply chains.
