The Jokey Group, in collaboration with Circolution, has introduced a new reusable bucket for the food industry. Together with their system partner, Jokey is integrating reusable packaging into an approach that can be incorporated into the existing supply chains and processes of industrial customers.

Jokey views reusable packaging not as a pure product, but as a comprehensive system connecting packaging and process. It is crucial that all elements, such as return, cleaning, storage, and data transparency, interlock reliably. For this system performance, Jokey cooperates with Circolution, a company specialising in reverse logistics and circulation management. Maximilian Bannasch, co-founder of Circolution, emphasises the importance of a functioning system to make reusable packaging practical in industrial daily life.

Pilot project with coffee brown

A practical example of implementing the reusable system is shown in a pilot project with the Kaffee Braun roastery. The company, which has been a customer of Jokey for over 30 years, has switched to the new square reusable container with a ten-litre capacity. Jonas Braun, Managing Director of Kaffee Braun, praises the new solution as future-proof and suitable for everyday use. The new containers are stackable, made from a single material, and designed for high circulation numbers, which makes them particularly sustainable.

Focus on the food industry

The new multi-way buckets have been specially designed for applications in the food industry, such as for dry bulk goods or products that are easy to clean. Jokey offers the buckets in three variants: five litre square, five litre round, and ten litre square. Ramona Lob from the Jokey Group explains that the buckets are designed to be integrated into existing processes with minimal effort. This lowers the barriers to entry for companies looking to switch to more sustainable packaging solutions.
