New "Shuttle Carrier" connects trackless intralogistics routes

"Shuttle Carrier" from Montratec GmbH

Niedereschbach-based Montratec GmbH is presenting a "world first" for intralogistics at Automatica 2018 - the new "Shuttle Carrier" of the modular rail and shuttle transport system "montrac". This enables transport to workstations that are not fully connected to rail systems.

The "Shuttle Carrier" is designed as a self-propelled Connection robot. It travels on the floor and orients itself by means of integrated sensor technology on strips applied to the floor. The transport module reaches speeds of up to 25 metres per minute. The shuttles can be loaded with loads of up to 50 kilograms.

The boxes transported with the shuttle carrier are pushed back onto the fixed rail segments via a movable rail on the height-adjustable shuttle attachment. Docking also starts the battery charging process for the shuttle.
