With the R370-1000d disperser, Tetra Pak is launching the next generation of inline dispersers, which it says offers unrivalled mixing performance at lower operating costs.
The new R370-1000D, which goes by the name of Dispersing plant is characterised by a fundamentally new design, produces finer, more uniform and more stable emulsions and reduces the need for downstream homogenisation. It also provides a better quality end product and reduces ongoing energy costs.
„We have developed this revolutionary new design in direct response to customer needs. Our new dispersion system completely breaks with the status quo. It streamlines production steps, reduces the need for investment, lowers costs and sets new standards in the industry.” says Monica Gimre, Executive Vice President, Processing Systems at Tetra Pak.
Energy consumption reduced
The unique redesign and integration of an integrated degassing system, a flexible powder feed system and the newly developed mixing head are central to this innovative new dispersion system. This enables the new system to Circulation mixer The new system can process products of the highest viscosity of up to 2,000 cP and break the size of the droplets down to one micrometre (0.001 mm), which is well below the industry average of 7 micrometres. The resulting much finer, more uniform and stable emulsion reduces the need for downstream homogenisation, which is a highly energy-intensive step in food processing. This means that it is now possible to completely eliminate the homogenisation step in the production of ice cream, for example, and reduce the Reduce energy consumption in the overall process by up to 50 %.
The new dispersion system can also process products with a dry weight of up to 65 % - the highest concentration for powder production of infant formula. This eliminates the evaporation step, another costly process in food processing, and reduces costs by up to 90 %.
The mixing system produces at a rate of up to 30,000 litres per hour and can be used in the production of liquid dairy products or beverages, ice cream and viscous products as well as for most premixing requirements in food production.
