The Klingele Group, manufacturer of corrugated base paper and corrugated cardboard packaging, and Bahmüller, manufacturer of corrugated cardboard processing systems, have agreed on a training co-operation. The aim is to improve the qualifications of prospective technical specialists in both companies.
The focus is on the training occupations of Packaging technologists and Industrial mechanic at the Klingele plant in Remshalden and the Industrial mechanic for process engineering at Bahmüller.
Qualification through training co-operation
According to the cooperation, which was sealed by a contract on 19 July 2017, certain learning content that cannot be sufficiently fulfilled in the company itself will in future be ensured via the training cooperation within the association. In addition New practice-orientated content integrated into the training programme. Due to the specialisation of the participating companies, the trainees receive a broad and comprehensive professional qualification. By working in the respective partner company - with new topics and colleagues - the junior employees strengthen their social skills and learn to adapt flexibly to different work situations.
The Programme for the new initiative have already been developed by Klingele and Bahmüller: In future, Klingele's packaging technologists will complete their basic training in metalworking over 12 weeks at Bahmüller, where they will acquire skills such as turning and milling in particular. In this way, the Klingele trainees and future machine operators will gain a deeper understanding of the corrugated cardboard processing machines and will be able to carry out minor repair or maintenance work independently at a later date.
In return, the prospective Bahmüller trainees receive an in-depth insight into the production of corrugated board and its processing as part of the training co-operation from the process engineering department in their second year of training at Klingele. To this end, they will pass through all areas relevant to production, from packaging development and work preparation to corrugated cardboard production and processing through to the laboratory. This placement is scheduled to run for a period of up to nine months.
With the newly created training programme for industrial mechanics specialising in process engineering, Bahmüller is focusing on getting to know the requirements of the corrugated cardboard industry in practice right at the start of their careers. In future, the industrial mechanics will work as process engineers in the folding carton sector and in the Flexo Folder Gluer segment, which is marketed together with partner Göpfert under BGM Bahmüller & Göpfert. Additional training is offered in electrical engineering and perfecting foreign languages.
Despite Industry 4.0 or the „Internet of Things“, the machine operator will be an important link between the 3M factors of material, machine and human in the future. In this way, the machine manufacturer is strengthening customer orientation in its team and laying the foundation on which products and services will be closely aligned with customer requirements in the future. In addition to the „practical part“, the theory is not neglected either: in future, the prospective industrial mechanics from Klingele will take part in the exam preparation for the intermediate and final exams at Bahmüller.

Klingele and Bahmüller have been successful in their specialised market segments for decades and both rely on a High-quality training, in order to continue offering their customers innovative products and services in the future.
