Double-digit visitor growth at LogiMAT 2019

61,740 international trade visitors and 1,624 exhibitors came to LogiMAT 2019 in Stuttgart from 19 to 21 February 2019. Vitronic won the award for best product in packaging and loading technology for a sorting system for parcel logistics.

LogiMAT has „cracked“ the 60,000 mark. 61,740 international trade visitors came to LogiMAT 2019 in Stuttgart from 19 to 21 February 2019. In the past five years, the number of visitors to the international trade fair for intralogistics and process management has almost doubled, said Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty in the final report.

According to the organiser Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress-GmbH from Munich, the number of visitors to the LogiMAT compared to the previous year. For the third time in a row, the growth in visitor numbers exceeded ten per cent. „This enormous response from trade visitors has far exceeded our wildest expectations,“ states Michael Ruchty, „This emphasises the importance of the trade fair as a key event for the industry. Information platform for the specialised public."

More than 20 per cent of the Trade visitors travelled from abroad. More than one in three visitors travelled more than 300 kilometres to come to the 17th LogiMAT.

250 new exhibitors were welcomed

According to the final report, exhibitor numbers were also strong.  1,624 international companies from 42 countries were registered. The proportion of non-German exhibitors was 29 per cent. The number of exhibitors thus rose by 3.8 per cent. 250 new exhibitors were welcomed. For the first time, LogiMAT occupied all available space at the Stuttgart exhibition centre.

LogiMAT continues to be established as the Forum for business transactions. The visitor survey revealed that 22.6 per cent of visitors placed orders directly at the trade fair or expressed the intention to do so. Vitronic wins prize for best product

LogiMAT 2019 once again offered exhibitors the opportunity to compete for the award for the best trade fair product. In the „Identification, packaging and loading technology, load securing“ category, the Vitronic Dr.-Ing. Stein Bildverarbeitungssysteme GmbH received the award for the intelligent sorting system „Vipac Smalls Sort“. Vitronic describes the innovation as currently unique worldwide Complete solution for parcel logistics.

The intelligent, modular Sorting system combines the recording of consignment data and the automatic sorting of smaller consignments. It can be used as a stand-alone solution and as a module in large sorting lines. Each consignment passes through the infeed, encoding, outfeed and sorting sections and is automatically sent to the desired discharge point. Special software controls all processes and visualises the data in real time.

Two further prizes were awarded in the categories „Picking, conveying, lifting and storage technology“ and „Software, communication, IT“. The French robotics start-up „Exotec Solutions SAS“ won with the Skypod-system, which is the world's first „goods-to-person“ solution based on mobile 3D robots. The autonomous robot pick goods containers with items weighing up to 30 kilograms from shelves up to ten metres high and transport them to the picking stations.

The LOS warehouse optimisation software from Heureka Business Solutions GmbH was named the best software solution. With funds from the Artificial intelligence enables the software Same-day delivery-concepts, smaller batch sizes and an increasing variety of articles.
