Incorrect handling of industrial paper sacks can lead to damage to the sacks. The downloadable recommendations for handling paper sacks published by the European Sack Group - a co-operation between CEPI Eurokraft and EUROSAC - provide clear information on the risks and best practice guidelines.
The brochures contain useful advice for bottlers, suppliers and retailers on how they can prevent damage in the paper sack supply chain in their operations.
„Paper sacks are very robust and sustainable packaging solutions for powdery substances,“ explains Catherine Kerninon, Secretary General of EUROSAC. „With our handling recommendations, we want to show fillers, suppliers and retailers how they can improve their processes through proper handling and palletising. Reduce damage or even completely prevent can.“ She emphasises that the greatest benefit can be gained from the numerous advantages of paper bags if they are handled correctly.
The guidelines are divided into two parts and are aimed at all players within the paper sack supply chain, that come into contact with empty or filled bags: Part 1 contains instructions for fillers. Part 2 is aimed at suppliers and distributors. From the storage of paper sacks before filling to the handling and stacking of palletised loads and the storage or display of filled sacks - the two brochures provide information with many clear illustrations about possible risks during the various work processes. They also explain the consequences of incorrect handling and how to handle paper sacks correctly.
The handling recommendations can be here in the languages German, English, French and Italian can be downloaded.
