The national trade fair Empack will open its doors in Dortmund for the second time in just a few days. On Wednesday and Thursday, 8 and 9 May 2019, the packaging trade fair will be presented together with „Logistics & Distribution“ for the first time.
According to the organiser Easyfairs More than 150 exhibiting companies have registered for the Empack Dortmund registered. They are intended to show the entire diversity of Packaging industry to be shown. Solutions for intralogistics will also be on show.

The trade fair organisers have announced many renowned companies as exhibitors. Among them is the Schur Star Systems GmbH with complete solutions for flexible packaging. In addition, the Bluhm Systeme GmbH from Rheinbreitbach offers cross-industry system solutions for automation and identification. With the Still GmbH a leading supplier of forklift trucks, trolleys and tow tractors, suitably enhanced by the appearance of the Durwen Maschinenbau GmbH, based in Plaidt, with an extensive range of attachments for forklift trucks.

Lecture forums and guided trade fair tours
On two open stages, visitors will once again find forums for stages Expert lectures on current topics relating to packaging and intralogistics. The organiser's competence partners, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, The Association for the Promotion of Innovative Processes in Logistics (VVL) e. V. and „Digital in NRW - Competence for SMEs“ have helped to organise the lecture series. The lecture programme will be supplemented by thematically appropriate guided tours through the exhibition hall.
New to the programme is the „Start-up Area“. Innovative logistics companies will be presenting their new products and solutions there. A current co-operation project can be seen at the Fraunhofer IML stand. Together with the European Pallet Association (EPAL), the IML is developing the load carrier „IPalIntelligent range“. This Euro pallet uses built-in sensors to transmit and visualise position, temperature and acceleration data. The loading of the pallet with goods can also be tracked via smartphone.
