Berlin-based online beauty retailer Flaconi uses the Tellus container from Schoeller Allibert to pick its cosmetic products - in a special translucent version.

Nevertheless, there were in detail need for logistical optimisationespecially in order picking. The online retailer wanted a separate container for each order, which would allow employees to Order handling and saves costs.

"Until recently, Flaconi picked its products in large containers, the contents of which were then divided up among individual customer orders," says Uwe SchenkAccount Manager at Schoeller Allibert and responsible for the Flaconi project.

The e-commerce company was looking for a more efficient solution that would save time and money and be less prone to errors. The specialists for plastic transport containers came up with the perfect solution in the form of the Tellus nestable stackable container. It is made of polypropylene, weighs 400 grams and measures 300 x 200 x 150 millimetres. The Tellus has a usable volume of five litres and a load weight of up to 150 kilograms.

As Schoeller Allibert developed the Tellus as a reusable transport solution for industrial logistics, it is very robust and durable. For use at Flaconi, the manufacturer has produced a special version instead of the standard version.

"To ensure that the fill level and contents of the containers are visible to employees, we supplied them in a translucent version with the Flaconi logo printed on them," explains Uwe Schenk.

The Order picking at the online retailer Schoeller Allibert was able to optimise this with the Tellus. Each order now lands in its own container. About affixed barcodes all orders can be precisely recorded. This facilitates handling and repackaging in the shipping packaging. And because the Tellus Easy to nest when empty the company also has more space in the warehouse.
