The Plug & Glue concept patented by Baumer hhs ensures optimum operating parameters and enables data-based preventive maintenance of hot melt systems.
„In 2006, our engineers developed an idea for hot melt systems that can be configured independently. Our experts made this possible by equipping both the individual hot melt hoses and the adhesive application valves with data carriers. Based on the data stored on the data carriers, the hot melt melter's control system automatically recognises the connected components when hot melt hoses or adhesive application valves are replaced and automatically adjusts the control parameters optimally,“ explains Thomas Walther, Head of Business Development, emphasised the advantages of the concept developed and patented by his company.
This is how all information on the data carriers of the individual components which ensures perfect interaction between the hardware and software of the Hot melt application systems allow. Among other things, the systems are heated up as quickly as possible, while at the same time preventing overshooting of the temperature control. There is no burning or thermal degradation of the adhesives. Added to this is the Special energy efficiency. Hot melt systems from Baumer hhs demonstrably consume Up to 50 % less energy compared to systems currently on the market.
This innovative solution was developed by Baumer hhs with the European Patent EP 20 547 85 B1 as well as patents in China (CN 101506751B), Japan (JP5436210B2) and the USA (US9840643B2). Nordson Corporation has filed an opposition against the EP patent before the European Patent Office. However, the Opposition Division of the European Patent Office has now confirmed patentability.
