As a hybrid robot, the HRC-capable Motoman HC10 from Yaskawa can be used in collaborative operation as well as a fully-fledged industrial robot. The manufacturer has now further expanded the robot's range of applications with a new model: the HC10DT IP67 is both dustproof and waterproof.
Thanks to the IP67 protection rating, the 6-axis robot can even in demanding environments where it is exposed to dirt or liquids, for example.
Like the basic HC10DT model, the new IP67 variant also combines the best of both worlds: It combines the stability and high movement speeds of an industrial robot with the safe limitation of contact forces between operator and robot, thus enabling a real Human-robot collaboration (MRK). As a robot with power and force limitation, the HC10DT IP67 can be used in accordance with the ISO TS15066 technical specification. This means that it does not require any additional protective measures, making installation extremely flexible.
With the new model, Yaskawa has once again extended the range of applications for the robot, which has a handling weight of 10 kg and a reach of 1.2 metres. The HC10DT IP67 is not only fully protected against the ingress of dust, but is also waterproof in accordance with its protection class, even when temporarily submerged. This makes it suitable, for example, for Handling tasks under harsh environmental conditions.
Programming made easy
The HC10DT IP67 also demonstrates its flexibility when it comes to programming. The model offers the following options three complementary Options:
Direct Teach (DT) allows programming to be carried out directly via the robot arm. This intuitive „Easy Teaching“ is made possible by a special switch box with function buttons. The HC10DT IP67 can be conveniently programmed using the three buttons on the robot flange - enabling button, teach-in button and tool button for opening and closing the gripper. The Smart Pendant touchscreen programming device also allows users to make quick and easy programme adjustments. In addition, a Fully-fledged hand-held control unit with high programming depth for demanding programming tasks.
