Change in the management of the Fraunhofer IVV

Prof. Dr Andrea Büttner took over as Managing Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising on 1 April.

Prof. Dr Andrea Büttner took over as Managing Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising on 1 April 2020.

Prof Büttner has already been on 1 November 2019 as Head of the Institute appointed. Now she is also taking over the Managing Director, which were in the hands of the Board of Directors until 31 March 2020. former head of the institute Prof Dr Horst-Christian Langowski lay.

On 31 March 2020 the long-standing director of the institute Prof Langowski retires from the management of the Fraunhofer IVV and takes his well-deserved retirement. Prof Langowski has worked at the Fraunhofer IVV for almost 30 years, the last 16 of which as Institute Director. His successor joins the Institute as Managing Director in addition to as of 1 April 2020 also the Succession in the scientific management of the competence centre for applied research in food and packaging technology (KLEVERTEC) in Kempten.

Together with the management team of the Fraunhofer IVV, Prof. Büttner wants to focus on the current challenges to the future. At the institute, everyone is now working at full speed to find the right solutions together with partners from business, science and politics. ensure the safe, sustainable and high-quality supply of food and develop new packaging concepts.
