Bobst and Cito-System announce strategic investments

With a strategic investment in the German Cito-System, the Bobst Group wants to drive innovation in mould making and packaging production.

Bobst Group confirms a strategic investment in the German company Cito-System GmbH. The aim is to drive innovation in mould making and packaging production worldwide.

On 8 April 2020, the company acquired Bobst acquires a majority stake of 51 per cent in Cito-System, while the management of Cito-System retains 49 per cent of the company. The company will under the same management with its existing, globally recognised network of brands and representatives. Cito-System offers a wide range of components for packaging manufacturers and diemakers and has expertise in the areas of paper, cardboard and corrugated board. The company's consumables and services are marketed under the brand of the same name.

Bobst has recognised the growing importance that the future of the packaging world through the integration of all key components, that contribute to packaging production. Under the motto „Tooling matters“, a number of tool innovations have been developed over the years. In 2017, the Swiss company acquired a majority stake in the Boxplan GmbH, which offers the packaging industry a large number of innovations in the area of cutting dies. In 2018, the Bobst certification programme to support local die makers in supplying the best possible tools for Bobst machines.
