The SSI Schaefer Group has appointed Harald Rackel as COO of the group of companies. The manager will take up his position on 1 October 2020.
Harald Rackel has been since 2018 CEO of Elexis AG and Spokesman of the Management Board of EMG Automation GmbH in Wenden, Siegerland. Elexis AG is part of the SMS Group and is the international market leader in the manufacture of automation and quality assurance systems.
After initial positions in the hot and cold rolling mills and process and quality management divisions, Harald Rackel took over as Head of the Electrical Systems and Automation division at SMS Group in 2007. He became a member of the Executive Board in 2013. Until the beginning of 2018, Harald Rackel was also responsible for the digitalisation strategy of the SMS Group and its subsidiaries.
The General Management of the SSI Schäfer Group, consisting of CEO Steffen Bersch, CFO Bruno Krauss and future COO Harald Rackel, is now ideally equipped to lead the company into a profitable and sustainable future.
