It has already been postponed to June, and now LogiMAT 2021 has finally been cancelled as an in-person event. Instead, the organiser intends to offer a digital meeting place for visitors and exhibitors this year.

The international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management has been cancelled due to the ongoing difficult coronavirus situation. The next trade fair will take place from 8 to 10 March 2022 in Stuttgart.

A further postponement of the LogiMAT 2021 did not make sense for the organiser, EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH. In the end, the decision was made in favour of the March 2022 date, so that the trade fair would be back to its usual rhythm, namely in the first quarter of the year. This was also the express wish of many exhibitors.

„An end to the current travel restrictions is not foreseeable due to the vaccination situation and the mutations. We have to react to this in good time. Our exhibitors need Planning security, which is not given at the present time. From today's perspective, it is unclear whether the face-to-face event in June could take place in its entirety. The exhibitors would like to see a face-to-face event, but if we end up having to do without the important international participants, that would not be in the interests of everyone involved. We must do everything we can to fulfil the justified expectations of exhibitors and visitors on site.“ Michael Ruchty, Exhibition Director of LogiMAT, Stuttgart

The organiser wants to use a digital solution to close the gap until the next in-person trade fair. They are currently working on a digital communication and information platform. „In addition to exciting, high-calibre presentations and an opportunity for our exhibitors to showcase their products and solutions, the focus is on intelligent matchmaking,“ explains Peter Kazander, Managing Director of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH.

LogiMAT, the international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management, has been postponed from March to early summer 2021 as a precautionary measure due to the current coronavirus situation. The trade fair will now take place from 22 to 24 June 2021 at Messe Stuttgart.

With this decision, the organiser EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH is reacting proactively and giving exhibitors and partners the Necessary planning security. The new date of LogiMAT 2021 is also intended to ensure the usual international character of the event.

A major trade fair such as LogiMAT 2021 requires a safe lead time of at least four to six months. As the organiser has now announced, thanks to the hygiene concept from EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH and Landesmesse Stuttgart, nothing stands in the way of holding the event at the trade fair centre with its ultra-modern and highly functional architecture. The health of exhibitors and visitors, which has the highest priority, would thus be taken into account.

Focus on internationality

However, the figures currently communicated by the Robert Koch Institute do not provide the necessary certainty regarding the possibility of participation from abroad to confidently proceed with the final planning for March 2021. LogiMAT 2021, which aims to live up to its reputation as one of the most important international industry events for intralogistics worldwide, will therefore be postponed to 22-24 June 2021.

„The safety standards at the Stuttgart exhibition centre are excellent. The ventilation system fulfils all specifications and the other high hygiene requirements could also be met without any problems. In this respect, nothing stood in the way of holding the trade fair in March 2021,“ explains Michael Ruchty, responsible Exhibition Director of LogiMAT Stuttgart. „LogiMAT particularly thrives on its international character. However, it is currently not possible to assess the extent to which the current entry restrictions will still apply in March 2021. These will have an impact on the expected internationality of the trade fair as a whole. This is one of the main reasons for this timely decision.“
