No country without its own packaging award. At the Greek Packaging Innovation Awards 2020, the gold prize went to a local manufacturer that equips the English coffee brand Lincoln & York with recyclable packaging.

The Greek packaging manufacturer A. Hatzopoulos S.A. launched X-CYCLE on the market last year. This is a whole series of recyclable packaging solutions. Together with the British coffee roasting company Lincoln & York, this has resulted in a whole range of recyclable coffee packaging.

Aroma and flavour remain in the bag

The high-barrier films developed for the packaging range were designed to keep the sustainably produced roasted coffee fresh and preserve its aroma and flavour. Based on the Hatzopoulos X-CYCLE PE concept, the finished films are metal-free and suitable for the British recycling loop.

Compatible with many machines

According to the manufacturer, the Greek packaging films can achieve high output rates on various packaging machines and 1001TP3 compatibility with common degassing valves. This has now won the Gold Award in the "Sustainability" category at this year's Packaging Innovation Awards 2020. Every year, this Greek competition supports innovations in packaging design presented by experts from the fields of packaging, FMCG and creative design.
