Advent calendars with a difference: with the Advent calendar from Papacks, the conventional plastic insert is replaced by a moulded fibre inlay. The inlay can be disposed of with waste paper or in the organic waste bin.
Most of the 80 million or so advent calendars produced in Germany every year contain plastic inserts. According to the Cologne-based company Papacks, these inserts add up to over 8,000 tonnes of packaging waste, the equivalent of over 800 full rubbish trucks.
This is where the Papacks Advent calendar scores with a Moulded fibre inlay, which replaces the conventional plastic inlay. The inlay is formed from rapidly renewable plants into moulded fibre parts and is therefore made of environmentally friendly raw materials produced. According to the company, it can be disposed of in waste paper or even in the organic waste bin.
Papacks offers full service
For all customers who want to package their products and have lower requirements, the company has already developed Standard sizes for numerous product shapes created. These can be ordered including outer carton. Customised shapes can be produced from 50,000 units. Papacks can also pack the desired products on request.
Secondary use included
The fibre form tray can of course be used creatively. For example, the company suggests using it as a flower bed in spring. For this purpose, flower seeds can be placed directly behind one of the 24 little doors as a practical addition.

The further development of fibre casting production technology, which is over 100 years old, is one of Papacks' core concerns. At the same time, the company is working on the development and research of new raw materials and natural barrier coatings.

In 2021, a third production facility for moulded paper fibre parts for certified primary packaging for the food and medical/pharmaceutical industries is to be opened in Arnstadt, Thuringia. This is expected to offer a production capacity of over 180 million moulded paper fibre parts for environmentally friendly packaging solutions in the same year. [/infotext]
