Every year, the TOP 100 innovation award honours the 100 most innovative SMEs according to the jury. Packaging specialist Walther Faltsysteme is among this year's winners.
Walther Faltsysteme regularly develops new Reusable transport solutions for logistics. Last year, the packaging specialist was honoured with the German Design Award and the pro-K award for a new roll container.
Top 100 Innovation Award with special section on the coronavirus crisis
Innovation researcher Nikolaus Franke and his team assess the innovative strength of companies based on 120 test criteria in five categories. The core question is whether Innovations the result of a planned approach or a product of chance are. In addition, an assessment was made of whether and how the corresponding solutions are gaining acceptance on the market. Due to the current situation, there was also a special section in which the corporate response to the coronavirus crisis was analysed.
An example of the innovative strength of Walther is the volume-reducible mobile container. Last year, it was already honoured with the German Design Award and the pro-K Award. The third award as an innovative system is due in particular to a Patented quick coupling system with. This not only enables extremely easy handling, but also a volume reduction of up to 76 per cent, which is not possible with any other roller container.
Reducing volumes is a major advantage, particularly in food retailing, as roller containers are often left unloaded in the warehouse outside of seasonal peaks and cause costs due to unnecessary space utilisation.
