dm launches circular economy campaign

Following the online launch, customers can now also find out about the use of recycled materials in packaging from the drugstore sector and its important role in an efficient circular economy in dm stores.

Online since 15 July and in dm stores from 22 July: Customers can find out more about the use of recycled materials in packaging from the drugstore sector and its important role in an efficient circular economy.

Under the motto: "For our environment - packaging becomes packaging", dm-drogerie markt is launching its campaign on the topic of the circular economy. Until 4 August 2021, customers will receive information on the circular economy, recycling and the use of recyclates (recycled materials) at dm with the help of various campaigns, posters and postcards.

The focus here is on product packaging. This is because dm is focussing on a high proportion of recycling here. Since 15 July, interested parties have been able to find out more online at dm.de/together Interesting reading on the circular economy, tips on how to recycle even better and information on an upcycling challenge.

Almost 3,000 tonnes of new plastic saved

When developing products and manufacturing packaging, dm says it endeavours to use as little material as necessary and as much recycled material as possible. The recyclability of its packaging is also important to dm. This means that it can be returned to the cycle in the best possible way in the installed recycling facilities after product use.

In 2020, dm was able to save over 2,900 tonnes of virgin plastic by using recycled material. 

On social media platforms, the dm social team provides information about dm's use of packaging materials via videos and an online shopping challenge, among other things.
