Coveris will be showcasing a selection of flexible packaging solutions at FachPack 2021. The range extends from films, pre-made pouches and labels to cardboard packaging. Visitors can also find out more about the recently opened Film Science Lab Winsford (UK).
One of Coveris' trade fair highlights will be the new Duralite-R film, which is made from up to 100 per cent recycled PE exists. It is a further contribution to the circular economy for plastic packaging and to a better CO2 balance. In addition Removable labels which facilitate the recycling of PET bottles and containers. They meet the requirements of the British deposit system and enable PET to be fully and cleanly recycled so that it can be reused for rPET.
Visitors to the trade fair will also have the opportunity to see the alternative packaging solutions made of paper and cardboard from Coveris at close quarters. These are particularly characterised by their natural look and feel when it comes to food packaging. The new Trays with linerless label for fruit and vegetables are made from 100 per cent FSC-certified paper. Thanks to their carrier film, they are recyclable and suitable for fast, automated and efficient packaging applications.

Another example of packaging solutions made from fully recyclable materials is the MonoFlex product range, the recyclable PE and PP films and laminates includes. It was first presented at FachPack 2019 and is now available for all food and pet food applications (recently also for baked goods) and in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

Coveris operates a network of R&D centres
Coveris maintains an extensive network of R&D centres. These include the Coveris Group's two UK R&D centres: the Pack Positive Centre in Leeds, which supports clients with the creative development and design of their packaging, as well as consumer data, and the Food Science Lab Coveris Gainsborough in Lincolnshire, which develops innovations to reduce waste and maximise the product life cycle.
In 2020, the Pack Innovation Centre in Halle (Germany) which serves as a European hub for technical product development, sustainable innovation and training in the field of flexible packaging. The centre offers Coveris customers support through industrial trials, cross-departmental training, on-site testing and direct validation.
This year, Coveris opened the Film Science Lab in Winsford, which has already established itself as a centre of excellence for industrial, agricultural and recycled stretch film products. The Coveris team of experts develops and tests functional, high-performance and easily recyclable PE and coex films in this modern materials laboratory. One of the latest innovations, for example, is the Cereal+ film. It is made of 100 per cent recyclable PE and offers protection for dry food as well as longer freshness and shelf life.
