PaperBarrierSeal is a new recyclable packaging solution that Coveris and the Austrian paper manufacturer Brigl & Bergmeister have developed together and are now presenting at Fachpack.
In response to the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions, Coveris and Austrian paper manufacturer Brigl & Bergmeister present PaperBarrier Seal. This fully recyclable and sustainable packaging material offers the same advantages as conventional packaging solutions in terms of barrier properties and product safety. In line with the Coveris strategy No Waste it also helps to reduce packaging and product waste.
PaperBarrier Seal is applied to presented exclusively at FachPack 2021. On this occasion, representatives from both companies will be happy to answer any questions about the co-operation project.

PaperBarrierSeal available in three versions
PaperBarrier Seal is characterised by a special paper coating that ensures sealability and complete recyclability. via existing recycling streams. The packaging material is available in three versions with different barrier properties, including protection against moisture, oxygen, grease and mineral oils. PaperBarrier Seal offers the same level of product safety as plastic packaging and comparable production efficiency to standard packaging solutions.
„Thanks to the support of our colleagues at the Coveris Pack Innovation Centre in Halle, we were able to successfully test our new paper-based packaging material for use in vertical (VFFS) and horizontal (HFFS) standard packaging machines. In doing so, we achieved Production speeds of up to 200 products per minute.
