Packaging and paper company Mondi has opened a new ISTA-certified laboratory at Mondi Bupak in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. Mondi Bupak is one of the flagship plants for corrugated board solutions in Central Europe and a centre for the development and production of eCommerce packaging.
The laboratory offers various transport performance tests, including ISTA-6 certification tests for packaging. In addition, the laboratory is certified by Mondi one Certified member of the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS) and thus a preferred partner for the testing of Amazon's level 1 to level 3 compliant packaging (FFP, SIOC and PFP), a market standard of the online retailer for the reduction of packaging volumes in eCommerce logistics.
State-of-the-art testing for ISTA standard
Freight forwarders, online retailers and marketplaces such as Amazon or FedEx are increasingly demanding that packaging be tested for the correctness of the packaging using such performance tests. Compliance with ISTA standards be tested. More and more FMCG, consumer goods and industrial companies therefore need proof that their packaging fulfils these requirements.
The new laboratory is equipped with the latest testing equipment, which enables Complete simulation of typical loads - The packaging must be able to withstand all the stresses and strains - such as pressure, drop, vibration and compression - to which a packaged product may be exposed in the supply chains of standard retail, global logistics or e-commerce.
