The film manufacturer Südpack has successfully completed the initial audit for the ISCC PLUS certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification). All German sites were certified in October and November 2021. Certification of the other sites is to follow successively.

ISCC EU is one of the leading standards in the field of sustainable biofuels. With ISCC PLUS, the globally recognised management system for mass balance certification has now been extended to other key areas of the circular economy. The aim is to Traceability of raw materials along the entire value chain also in the food, feed and chemicals sectors. ISCC PLUS is significantly more demanding than ISO certification, as all production sites must be certified separately.

South pack uses the certification to prove the use of chemically recycled material, among other things. In addition to its own compounding and regranulation, the film manufacturer is also increasingly focussing on the use of recycled materials as part of its sustainability offensive. Chemical recycling as a complementary recycling alternative in the market. The aim of the measures is to, further increase the proportion of recycled material in film production and to convert industrial plastic waste that was previously not recyclable into valuable resources.

Traceability along the entire supply chain

By the end of November 2021 All German locations successfully certifiedThe certification process starts with Südpack Verpackungen with its sites in Ochsenhausen and Erolzheim and extends to Ecoform Multifol in Erlenmoos and Schwendi. The certification enables the communication of transparent and verified information to stakeholders - and proves that the ISCC sustainability requirements are met and that traceability is guaranteed along the entire supply chain.
