Multi-page labelling with Herma

Herma has found a solution for labelling large and heavy containers from several sides for the JUB Group.

Labelling large and heavy containers from several sides can present companies with challenges. If the containers also have an oval or conical shape, the distance to the labeller changes dynamically, and the JUB Group faced this difficulty and found a solution with Herma.

How can precise side labelling without creases and bubbles be achieved? As the labelling system is used directly at a JUB Group production and bottling site, it was also necessary to ensure an equally precise labelling process. Robust and compact construction and design of the system required. Elmed, long-standing sales and service partner of Herma, has created a solution for this task. Three Herma 500 labellers are used for this.

From the filling line, the products are automatically transferred to the Elmed bucket labelling machine via a conveyor belt. A Belt guide system initially ensures alignment. Conventional, rigid peel-off edges are not suitable for attaching the two side labels, which are each larger than A4. The company developed vacuum suction pads that are movable along all three relevant axes, i.e. three-dimensional labelling can. JUB can label up to 12 paint buckets per minute in this way. Anyone who can operate a smartphone can also use the labeller's touchscreen.

Important for an uncomplicated and quick change of label rolls: Favourite parameter settings can be displayed directly on the start screen. At the same time, the touchscreen is easy to clean with all the usual means should dust or other unavoidable particles settle on it.

„After the initial training at JUB's production facility, we had no further queries regarding the functionality or daily operation of the system. Of course, this shows that our customer's operating personnel are very experienced and careful. But it is also an indicator that our labelling machine with the three Herma 500s works very stably and reliably and perfectly fulfils the not quite everyday requirements.“
