The Munich-based provider of reusable packaging IFCO and European industry partners have jointly developed a reusable solution for cut flowers. It has now been honoured by Deutsche Umwelthilfe with the „Reusable Innovation Award 2022“.
Black disposable plastic buckets in various designs are still used to transport cut flowers and are made available to retailers. The IFCO reusable bucket enables retailers to switch to a sustainable packaging solution for cut flowers.
Today ( 9 September), the „Reusable Innovation Prize 2022“, awarded by Deutsche Umwelthilfe and the Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg (SIM), is being presented for this idea. The prize honours initiatives that promote reusability and contribute to a lower environmental impact.
IFCO claims to be the first pooling company to offer a reusable packaging solution for cut flowers that can be shared by retailers in a pooling system. The IFCO reusable bucket for cut flowers will soon be available on the European market.
Milk and egg crate arrives in the USA
The company receives another award in the USA. The annual „Excellence in Reusable Packaging Award“ recognises companies that have developed and implemented innovative products and effective reuse systems in their supply chain.
The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) selected IFCO and its supply chain partners as winners in the „Excellence in Reusable Packaging System“ category for its solution for dairy products and eggs.
This foldable milk and egg crate, called Gregg, is the result of a close collaboration between IFCO, NestFresh and a leading US grocery retailer.
