glasstec celebrates successful restart

After a break due to the pandemic, glasstec took place again in Düsseldorf from 20 to 23 September. 936 exhibitors from 47 countries presented the latest developments and the performance of the industry to 30,000 visitors. The organisers are fully satisfied.

"glasstec 2022 came at exactly the right time to give the glass industry a new sense of direction after the changes caused by the pandemic and in a difficult global economic situation. The feedback from participants is unequivocal: As a presence trade fair, glasstec enables an intensive exchange of experience and knowledge transfer on a global level in a uniquely concentrated form, as well as an unrivalled density of innovations and solutions„, says Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.

More than 75 per cent of trade visitors came to Düsseldorf from abroad. This means that the proportion of international guests remains at a high level and confirms glasstec's position for the industry in the „International Year of Glass“. The United Nations has proclaimed this for 2022 in order to emphasise the scientific, economic and cultural significance of glass as a material and its important role in future issues such as climate protection and CO₂-reduction.
