At the centre of Bobst's presence at K 2022 is oneBarrier, a family of new alternative and sustainable solutions that the company is developing together with its industry partners.
oneBarrier PrimeCycle is an EVOH-free solution without a top coat that can be used as a full PE barrier an alternative to metallised polyester films represents. As a polymer-based mono-material, it is recyclable and also has very good barrier properties. This makes it a potentially ground-breaking development for sustainable packaging. PrimeCycle is the first of several interesting solutions. In response to increased industry demand for more paper-based packaging options, the paper-based packaging solution oneBarrier FibreCycle was developed. This is an entirely paper-based solution. The Monomaterial solution was developed together with partners Michelman and UPM.
The partners of Bobst, The companies involved in oneBarrier PrimeCycle include Dow, Michelman, Sun Chemical and Zermatt.
