At K 2022, Oerlikon will be showcasing products and services for greater sustainability along the entire plastics industry value chain. The topic is becoming increasingly important for companies and the Group wants to help customers achieve their goals.
„We see our technology solutions as enablers for a better world. In the polymer processing industry, we need to move towards a sustainable, closed-loop economy for packaging materials and textiles, for example, and intensively expand the recycling of reusable materials. With our current technologies and future innovations, we support manufacturers along the process chain in achieving their own sustainability goals.“
Georg Stausberg, CEO of the Oerlikon Polymer Processing Solutions Division and CSO of the Oerlikon Group
The efficient and continuous polycondensation plants from Oerlikon Barmag Huitong Engineering produce a homogeneous melt through a chemical reaction in which different types of monomers are converted into polymers. The advantages of having your own polycondensation plant: Independence from external granulate manufacturers, compensation for short-term price fluctuations on the market for raw materials and direct influence on the polymer quality.
„Longer component and mould service lives increase efficiency in plastics processing production. But they also mean more stable processes and therefore less waste. We have always had this in mind with all our technology brands and their innovations for K 2022.“.
André Wissenberg, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs of the Oerlikon Polymer Processing Solutions Division
Oerlikon's joint venture company BBEngineering has been working on the topic of recycling for years and is focussing on this topic at the Düsseldorf trade fair this year. In addition to extruders, filters and mixers, BBEngineering is offering VacuFil, a Complete system for an innovative PET LSP recycling process on. VacuFil combines gentle large-scale filtration and targeted IV regulation for consistently excellent rPET melt quality. The modular system can be used for various recycling applications.
