The Dresden-based packaging specialist Theegarten-Pactec acquired a stake in the Turkish mechanical engineering company Makrev Packaging on 1 September. In this way, the Dresden-based company intends to expand its portfolio in the medium and low output and price segments.

Theegarten-Pactec acquired a stake in the Turkish company Makrev Packaging on 1 September. The company, based in Istanbul, was founded in 1998 and has been manufacturing synchronised chocolate and jelly packaging machines as well as complete automation and feeding systems ever since. The Makrev machines achieve a packaging output of up to 900 pieces per minute for jelly products and hard sugar and 400 pieces per minute for chocolate.

With this acquisition, Theegarten-Pactec aims to expand its product portfolio and become more attractive to customers in the medium performance and price segment below the high-performance machines built in Dresden. "This step is exactly the right one for our long-term success," says Markus Rustler, Managing Partner of Theegarten-Pactec. "Makrev machines are solidly constructed and manufactured to the highest quality. They have an impeccable reputation in the industry."

Makrev, in turn, will benefit from the cooperation from the Dresdner's worldwide sales and service network. To date, Makrev has mainly been active in the Middle East, North Africa, the CIS and India.
