IFCO takes over RPC pooling service provider PlasticPack

By acquiring the Lithuanian RPC pooling service provider PlasticPack, IFCO aims to become the leading provider of reusable packaging for the fresh food supply chain in the Baltic region.

IFCO, a supplier of reusable packaging for fresh food, has announced the acquisition of RPC pooling service provider PlasticPack from Vilnius, Lithuania.

PlasticPack is the current market leader in Lithuania for reusable packaging in the meat and dairy supply chain. With the acquisition, IFCO aims to become the leading provider of Reusable packaging for the fresh food supply chain in the Baltic region, serving Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

PlasticPack will expand its product portfolio beyond meat and dairy products to include fruit and vegetable packaging for growers and retailers, making it the leading provider of fruit and vegetable packaging. the first company to offer foldable reusable packaging for fruit and vegetables in the Baltic States. By expanding the use of reusable packaging in the region, the company is undertaking IFCO another step towards fulfilling its goal of making the supply chain for fresh food sustainable.

In addition to covering the Baltic region, customers in the region will benefit from IFCO's long-standing global Expertise in the circular economy and the provision of reusable packaging benefit. The merger of PlasticPack and IFCO is expected to combine local and global operational expertise, provide an enhanced customer experience and ensure the financial backing to expand the business.
