Regional trade fairs for regional companies - that is the concept behind the Empack trade fairs. On 14 and 15 June 2023, Messe Hamburg-Schnelsen will therefore once again become the centre of the northern German packaging industry. The list of exhibitors includes some well-known representatives.
Around 70 exhibitors await visitors, covering a broad spectrum of packaging technology. Some examples: Bluhm Systems develops and manufactures labelling systems, Ellerhold produces labels and displays at six locations. With Herma another labelling and marking specialist is represented, while Billet cardboard boxes and packaging material. Romwell develops customised packaging solutions and offers both the materials and the machines (from its own production) for this. Wipotec concentrates on systems for weighing technology and inspection. Wolf packaging machines develops systems for the packaging of powdery and pasty products, and Yamaton Paper produces sustainable packaging based on paper honeycomb.
This year, the trade fair is also of interest because the organisers Focus on two current topics have set: Smart Packaging and Sustainability. Project manager Maria Soloveva: „The framework conditions for the packaging of industrial and consumer goods are changing rapidly. Packaging is taking on additional functions, and recyclability and reusability are becoming even more important. Different materials and concepts are in competition with each other. At Empack, trade visitors will receive an ‚update‘ on the state of the art, talk to experts and familiarise themselves with the exhibitors“ innovations." The Solution and Science Centres will be discussing these two main topics as well as other current issues. The changing requirements of legislation and consumer behaviour are also discussed.
Short distances, personal contact
At Empack, exhibitors can quickly and personally establish contacts with decision-makers who have a need for packaging technology products and services. And visitors will get to know efficient suppliers who enable or offer innovative, efficient and sustainable packaging solutions. Hamburg is perfect for this task. This is because a disproportionately high number of goods are packaged and handled in the metropolitan region, and until now there has been a lack of a regional trade fair as an anchor point for dialogue and matchmaking between supply and demand in the packaging industry.
The Hamburg-Schnelsen trade fair centre is easy to reach and admission is free. Online registration is also part of the „Easy Entry“ concept the trade fair, as well as the „Smart Badge“, which every visitor receives upon entry. The contactless transmission of contact data at every trade fair stand offers the advantage that visitors do not have to collect brochures and other documents or exchange business cards, but can simply communicate their wishes in conversation with the exhibitors and be provided with the relevant information afterwards.
