New staff position and head of application development

BGS has established the Technology Management staff unit and Marie-Bernadette Watolla has taken over as Head of Application Development.

Marie-Bernadette Watolla has been the new Head of Application Development at BGS Beta-Gamma-Service GmbH since the beginning of July. She is responsible for the technical implementation, optimisation and adaptation of customer-specific requirements for radiation sterilisation and radiation crosslinking.

The tasks of application development include BGS the development of solutions, qualification of new products and development of innovative applications in the fields of radiation sterilisation, radiation crosslinking and for special applications.

"The Application Development department at BGS is primarily responsible for technical feasibility tests, product qualification and application and process engineering issues. Due to the large number of products and customers from a wide range of industries - from medical technology and biotechnology to the automotive industry and infrastructure - this is an exciting task. The variety of challenges really appeals to me and I'm looking forward to developing the department further."

At the beginning of July, BGS also launched a Technology management staff unit established. The previous Head of Application Development, Dr Dirk Fischer, will take over management. He is therefore responsible for Cross-departmental technology projects, technology and feasibility studies as well as research and development projects under the leadership of interdisciplinary teams. The new Technology Management department covers all steps from trend and technology scouting to final technology development for the Radiation Sterilisation and Radiation Networking divisions.
