With Ecoline, allfo is launching a new vacuum bag on the market which, according to the company, saves 45 per cent material. The PA/PE bag has a thickness of 50µ, is suitable for meat and dairy products and is recyclable.

„As a packaging specialist based in the Allgäu region, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and the current challenges of climate protection. We are convinced that less is more. That's why I'm particularly proud of our latest innovation. Our new Ecoline vacuum bag uses 45 per cent less material than conventional PA/PE bags. True to the motto: as thin as possible, as thick as necessary.“

Peter Hotz, Managing Director of allfo GmbH & Co. KG

Ecoline scores with 45 per cent material savings and is therefore an alternative to conventional PA/PE vacuum bags. In contrast to 90µ thick sealed-edge bags, Ecoline manages with a thickness of 50µ and is in no way inferior to „classic“ bags in terms of its packaging properties. PA (polyamide) ensures Oxygen barrier and flavour protection, PE (polyethylene) creates a moisture barrier and very good sealing properties.

The reduced film thickness of Ecoline is also reflected in its weight: the new Ecoline vacuum bag weighs just 5.91 grams, compared to 9.92 grams for classic sealed-edge bags from allfo. „Extrapolated to 1,000 vacuum bags in the 200 x 300 mm size, that makes around four kilograms of material, as we save thanks to Ecoline“, emphasises Hotz. In concrete terms, this means: four kilograms of film per 1,000 bags that do not have to be produced, processed, recycled or disposed of. That protects the environment.

The new vacuum bag from allfo scores not only with 45 per cent material savings, but is also recyclable. With a PA content of less than 30 per cent, Ecoline fulfils the new requirements of the German Packaging Act regarding the recyclability of the bags. During the development of Ecoline, emphasis was placed on a high barrier and high bag stability. The company intends to offer Ecoline, the 50µ slim sealed-edge pouch, in up to 30 different sizes in future and expand it into a fully-fledged range.
