Officers re-elected at Flexible Packaging Europe

Jakob A. Mosser was re-elected Chairman of the industry association by the members of Flexible Packaging Europe.

Jakob A. Mosser was re-elected Chairman of Flexible Packaging Europe. The members of the industry association also confirmed the deputy chairmen Michele Guala and Michael Zacka in office.

At their summer conference, which took place in Thessaloniki this year, the members of Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) Jakob A. Mosser as Chairman once again. He was first elected in 2020.

FPE is the industry association that represents the interests of more than 85 small and medium-sized companies as well as multinational manufacturers. The member companies account for almost 90 percent of European sales of flexible packaging made of various materials, primarily plastics, aluminium and paper.

„It is a great pleasure to have been asked to serve another term as Chairman of FPE and I greatly appreciate the confidence in my leadership, in which I have been greatly supported by Michele and Michael. When I took up this position in the middle of the pandemic, I spoke about the challenges facing the entire value chain. None of us knew that another event, the war in Ukraine, would cause even more disruption. Energy prices, our raw material costs and inflation skyrocketed and labour shortages and supply chain disruptions further impacted our business operations. Meanwhile, we continued to address environmental challenges and legislative developments to create a more sustainable world, where plastics appear to be a prime target. Meanwhile, FPE continues to work with others to advocate for flexible packaging and to support and expand work on multiple fronts for a more circular economic model. This work will continue and I am confident that FPE and its members will continue to make a positive contribution and that flexible packaging has a bright and successful future in Europe.“
