The fast and secure dispatch of sensitive spare parts is one of the most important aspects in the maintenance of products from the electronics and mechanical engineering industries. With its PAPERPAC shipping packaging, DREI V GmbH from Kirchheim-Heimstetten offers the ideal packaging solution for shipping spare parts - customised for professional requirements and perfect handling.

Like the other DREI V GmbH products, PAPERPAC is developed and produced according to the 1/2/3 company philosophy: Quickly open, quickly close, safely away. This means that urgently needed components and spare parts reach their destination in no time at all. This is because repairs can only be carried out efficiently and on time if the required replacement modules reach the customer service technician in the shortest possible time and undamaged. Cost-intensive downtimes can therefore be minimised.

Since its foundation in 1982, the company has already produced more than one billion corrugated cardboard packages. This success is due in part to the innovative PAPERPAC fusible packaging, an invention of DREI V company founder Hans Reinhart. This shipping solution made of sturdy corrugated cardboard with a protruding protective edge holds Sensitive products of various dimensions quickly find their place.

„Thanks to an environmentally friendly paper insert glued into the corrugated cardboard die-cut box, the sensitive packaged goods are securely fixed and cushioned against impact. The heating, industrial and cooling system manufacturer Viessmann has been using a customised version of the company's PAPERPAC fuser packaging for its rubber gasket sets for years: the heating technology spare parts from Viessmann's Allendorf plant in the western part of North Hesse are securely embedded in the paper inlay and sent on their way.

Dieter Gerke, Centre Manager Accessories and Spare Parts, is pleased that they always arrive there in perfect condition: „In my 44-year career at Viessmann, I have also seen poorly processed packaging: Cartons that have opened during transport. There has never been a problem with the DREI V packaging. An absolute hit for us!“

Optimised packaging process

Viessmann was also able to structure its work processes better, save time when packing and minimise material, storage and postage costs. „Since we have been using the DREI V-PAPERPAC, our packing stations have been much tidier. Previously, there were large quantities of packing paper and adhesive rolls on the packing tables, which made the packing process much more difficult,“ says Gerke.

Optimum ergonomics on the packing table: the integrated self-adhesive seal saves packaging material and reduces the number of gripping paths for the packer.

A positive side effect of saving on packaging material is a Reduction of gripping distances for each individual packer. With up to 500 packs per shift and employee at Viessmann, this is a not inconsiderable factor. Thanks to the integrated self-adhesive seal The new packaging also means that the worker no longer has to turn 180 degrees to reach a roll of adhesive, which is good for ergonomics at the workplace.

Ecologically sensible

Thanks to the combination of corrugated cardboard and paper inlay, the shipping packaging can be 100 per cent to the waste paper recycling process can be fed in. The flexible paper insert optimally encloses and protects the shipping goods and makes the use of additional filling materials such as bubble wrap, foam or paper superfluous. The use of PAPERPAC therefore saves a significant amount of primary raw materials and makes an important contribution to environmental protection.
