B+S strengthens activities in e-commerce

B+S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen is continuing to expand its activities in this segment in order to do justice to the rapidly growing e-commerce business: With a focus on the food and pharmaceutical sectors, the company is consistently developing fulfilment solutions for e-commerce.

The company has long been experiencing increased demand for services in this segment. Through its activities in the Contract logistics the processes required for e-commerce are already established. B+S has invested in the further development and expansion of its software for the B2C sector in order to be able to map the e-commerce solutions in terms of IT technology.

Customised solutions

Responsibility for strengthening the e-commerce segment lies with Manuel Unkel, Sales Manager E-Commerce Fulfilment / Contract Logistics. Having already built up this business area for several companies, he is now supporting Mario Engler, authorised signatory and Head of Project Logistics, in the corporate development of B+S. Thanks to his many years of experience, Unkel is familiar with the challenges faced by logistics companies when designing e-commerce solutions. „The requirements for logistics partners in this area vary greatly. That's why we develop customised solutions for large and small manufacturers,“ says the sales manager.

There has been strong growth in online food retailing and at the same time there is a lack of professional logistics service providers and solutions.
