For more individuality: Heilbronn-based cutting-die manufacturer Marbach recently presented its new modular system for corrugated board processing.
With this new system, Marbach customers will be able to order Tool packages more flexible than was previously the case. Until now, every order at Marbach was manufactured according to standardised customer specifications. Regardless of the purpose of the order. Of course, the moulds could be individually adapted to the intended use. However, this meant a considerable amount of time per order.
Ingo Graham, developer at Marbach: „This was often too time-consuming for our customers. That's why they often did without customisation to meet the requirements of individual orders. We introduced the modular system to give our customers more flexibility and save them time.“
This enables Marbach customers to put together the right tool package for every order very quickly.
Three equipment lines: smart, performance and high-end
The Marbach modular system consists of three different equipment lines smart, performance and highend. The smart equipment line is the cost-optimised variant. It is suitable for One-off orders. Anywhere „where customers don't want to do without Marbach quality, even for short runs“, says Graham. Tool packages in smart design are inexpensive and have short delivery times.
The performance-optimised variant called performance is suitable for orders where the Production output is in the foreground. Tool packages in this design stand for maximum speeds and minimum set-up times. For Cross-country skier and Very high print runs high-end tool packages are available to Marbach customers. These are designed for jobs with the highest demands and the highest requirements in terms of running performance and service life.
Modular system prevails
Ingo Graham: „Most of our customers have already converted to the modular system. Individual standards are defined for each customer at the outset. Including all equipment features. You have to imagine it like a car configurator. The customer determines which exact features their smart, performance and high-end packages should contain.“
The customer can simply specify the equipment line when ordering. And they will then receive the right tool package for the job.
Ingo GrahamIf, for example, our customer wants a simple mould for a one-off order or a high-tech mould for a demanding order, this can be done without much effort on their part. Without long discussions. The customer simply orders the right equipment line.„
With this system, Marbach customers save time and gain flexibility compared to the conventional ordering process. In addition, customers pay for exactly the equipment variant they need for the respective order.
