In March 2023, SIG's Recycle for Good programme was launched in Indonesia. The programme is supported by the SIG Foundation and aims to change consumer behaviour and encourage the public to take their recyclable waste to a collection point to support the circular economy.
The Recycle for Good programme started with a collection point in the Cibubur Junction Mall in East Jakarta. One year after the launch, over 770 families have collected more than 11,700 kilograms of recyclable materials. In collaboration with Armada Kemasan as a partner for waste management SIG is now expanding the reach of the Recycle for Good programme and increasing the number of collection points to 151 in Jakarta and the greater Jakarta area.
„SIG wants to achieve the goal of net-zero CO2-emissions and halve our environmental impact by 2030, we are therefore pleased to announce the expansion of the Recycle for Good programme in Indonesia. Last year, we set up a single collection centre that delivered good results with measurable success. Now we want to strengthen the impact of this programme, by setting up additional collection centres with Armada Kemasan,“ explains Noer Wellington, Head of Market Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines at SIG.
„Waste is a global challenge. Preserving natural habitats for the next generation is one of the main objectives of the SIG Foundation. We are therefore delighted that SIG is taking a pioneering role with the Recycle for Good initiative in Indonesia. With the expansion of this project, SIG is actively contributing to recycling and waste reduction by bringing recyclable materials back into the cycle.“
Holger Dickers, Managing Director of the SIG Foundation

„We have been working with SIG on waste management for several years and are proud to now be part of SIG's Recycle for Good programme. We believe that by participating in Recycle for Good, people can Taking steps towards more sustainable lifestyles by sorting their recyclable waste and bringing it to our collection centres. We encourage the public to visit their nearest Recycle for Good collection centre and drop off their waste, which we will then recycle into something useful and beneficial,“ says Arnold Abdi, Managing Director of Armada Kemasan.
The aim of the SIG Way Beyond Good Foundation is to work with others to identify, promote and support activities and projects that strengthen civil society and have a positive impact on the environment. „Cartons for Good“ was the foundation's first project. It offers innovative solutions to combat food loss and malnutrition. „Recycle for Good“ is the foundation's first project in the area of recycling and part of SIG's Resource+ commitment.
