Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG has been a member of the OPEN-SCS Working Group since February 2017. In this international working group, 18 system manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies are currently developing communication standards for various serialisation and aggregation applications together with the OPC Foundation.

OPEN-SCS stands for Open Serialisation Communication Standard. The members work together to develop standardised interfaces so that data can be exchanged easily between the different levels - for example between Level 2 (components) and level 3 (Line Control) or between level 3 and level 4 (Site Management).

„Until now, each provider has used its own communication standard. Pharmacists often work with different service providers at different levels. The interfaces therefore always have to be customised. Standardised interfaces will make life much easier for our customers. We want to contribute to this,“ explains Kathrin Günther, Team Leader Sales Support Software & Automation at Uhlmann.

Uhlmann also has a keen interest in always being up to date and helping to shape the future standard. „By participating in the working group, we not only have our finger on the pulse of the times, but also set the pace for the future“
