This year, the network meeting was also preceded by a In-house exhibition from Watttron in neighbouring Freital. The young company presented its Innovative digital heating technology which offers the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries the opportunity to process mono-materials for packaging, among other things. The patented Watttron technology is based on individual heating pixels that enable precise control of the heating temperature. The result for packaging manufacturers is higher energy savings - up to 50 per cent - and compensation for productivity losses of around 30 per cent, as well as amortisation of the investment in six months. In their presentation at the Packaging Conference, Dr Thomas Görner and Marcus Stein from Watttron also explained how the objectives of the PPWR in the flexible packaging sector can be achieved with „digital heating“ technology.
