The new DCS portal from Aucotec AG is aimed primarily at general contractors and operators of various control systems. The abbreviation DCS stands for „Distributed Control System“. According to the Hanover-based company, the benefit of the portal is that systems can be designed uniformly across different control systems on the basis of a standardised data model.
The DCS portal should act as a bridge to one or more automation systems. The „Software Engineering Base“ (EB) from Aucotec provides a container in the DCS portal for the programming tools and software modules of the various control systems and forms the link between the various containers in order to provide the required system information.
All data in a standardised data model
The advantage of the concept is that it speeds up system development, writes Aucotec. Should a change in the process affect the Sensor-actuator logic the control system is quickly informed via the portal. All data is stored in a standardised Data model managed. Change entries are therefore only required in one place.
