At SPS IPC Drives, In-GmbH is presenting what the Constance-based company believes is a new type of platform for the Internet of Things (IoT). „Sphinx Open Online“ makes it possible to merge and process various data from different sources. Virtual images of different physical or logical objects can be combined with each other. A model-in-the-middle concept is integrated into the platform. It performs functions such as analyses, forecasts and decisions, including the networking of different digital twins.

The third generation of „Sphinx Open Online“ is characterised above all by the fact that all technologies can be combined in a consistent system. „Changes in reality change the model, changes to the model change reality,“ explains In-GmbH Managing Director Siegfried Wagner: „This allows the application to react to predicted events at an early stage and control complex systems with a variety of framework conditions without human intervention.“ This functionality is particularly useful in the management of Peak loads in energy consumption.

Savings potential by switching systems off and on

The concept is being used successfully in real projects to optimise energy peak loads. With „Sphinx Open Online“, customers could realise high Savings potential In-GmbH believes that this can be achieved. Impending load peaks are successfully compensated for without human intervention by switching systems on and off.
