The OptiK-Net project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and officially launched in October 2019, is a joint project involving various experts from the printing industry and other sectors. As a project partner, Janoschka is working on the development of an innovative printing form at the Kippenheim site.
It has been official since October. As a specialist in packaging printing with decades of experience, Janoschka is a project partner in the programme officially entitled Direct printing and integration of short-range optical networks (OptiK-Net). The project volume funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of A total of three million euros for six funded consortium partners emphasises the forward-looking potential of this research.
OptiK-Net's mission is to ideally combine the advantages of electronic circuit boards with those of optical communication. The cost- and resource-efficient production of such fibre optic cables is the declared goal.
“The prepress industry is technology-driven and we have always pursued a consistent and application-oriented innovation strategy. Not only to be able to offer our customers, but the entire industry, decisive added value. OptiK-Net is the ideal platform to make this innovative strength available to other industrial and economic sectors.“

High-throughput printing processes are to be enabled for the first time to print highly functional polymer-based optical fibres for optical networks directly and on an industrial scale. For this purpose Different printing processes (screen, flexo and gravure printing) be analysed.
As a gravure printing expert, Janoschka is dedicated to the research and development of an innovative printing form at the Kippenheim site, which ultimately enables the use of printed fibre optic cables in various areas of our everyday lives.
