The demands placed on food packaging are diverse and complex: rising costs, a shortage of skilled labour, and ever more stringent regulatory requirements. In this context, Syntegon is presenting its new neXt system architecture at Interpack, designed as a response to these challenges.

A key feature of the neXt architecture is Seamless Operation. This ensures continuous processes across all machines integrated into the system. Uniform operating philosophies and harmonised interfaces reduce error sources and significantly shorten setup times. One example is the TRX top-load cartoning platform, which enables format changes in around ten minutes through automated processes, thereby reducing investment costs for new formats and decreasing training requirements.

Data-driven transparency

Smart Decisions is the second pillar of the neXt architecture. This combines networked machine platforms with software solutions to bring data intelligence to the packaging line. Cameras and AI-based quality controls enable real-time monitoring of productivity and quality. Operators can monitor plant statuses remotely and react more quickly to deviations, which reduces unplanned downtimes and increases overall equipment effectiveness.

More autonomy

The third component, Touchless Automation, minimises manual intervention and automates recurring activities. Autonomous material supply systems and mobile robots take on tasks such as inserting film rolls, which increases availability and relieves staff.

Future-proof investment

The modular machine platforms HFX and TRX are integral components of the neXt architecture. They are retrofit-capable and designed for long-term scalability. New functions and automation modules can be integrated at any time. Syntegon offers comprehensive service packages that ensure maximum availability and predictable costs. Furthermore, the neXt architecture impresses with technologies that reduce energy consumption and waste, helping manufacturers meet regulatory requirements.

With the neXt system architecture, Syntegon is setting a benchmark for powerful, flexible, and sustainable production that meets the current and future demands of the food industry.
