J. Schmalz GmbH has developed a new pneumatic vacuum generator especially for the safe handling of porous or flexible objects with lightweight and small industrial robots.
The robot arm is an important component in lightweight and industrial robots. But even more important is the interface between the robot arm and the workpiece, i.e. grippers, sensors or tool changers. These components are responsible for handling workpieces and products safely. This can be a challenge - for example, if the objects are porous like cardboard packaging, or if they have unevenness. It can also be difficult with flexible objects such as filled cartons in palletising and depalletising processes.
Vacuum generator works purely pneumatically
It is precisely for such requirements and for workpieces weighing up to ten kilograms that Lard now the RECB vacuum generator developed. In contrast to its sisters in the ECBPi and ECBPMi series it generates the vacuum purely pneumatically.
The new RECB is particularly compact and extremely powerful with a pumping speed of 59 standard litres per minute. The user can therefore realise short cycle and evacuation times in fully automated processes and also benefits from high leakage compensation.
The vacuum generator is very easy to Simple mechanical and electrical connection to the robot. In addition, the low overall height allows it to be mounted directly on the robot arm with a low height limit. The new RCEB is controlled via digital robot outputs and communicates via IO-Link.
