Koenig & Bauer completes generational change in the Management Board

The company appoints Dr Stephen Kimmich as CEO.

Dr Stephen Kimmich will become the new CEO of Koenig & Bauer from June 2025. Dr Alexander Blum will take over as CFO in July 2025. This means that the planned reorganisation of the Group's management is almost complete.

With effect from the Annual General Meeting on 4 June 2025, Dr Stephen Kimmich, previously CFO and Deputy CEO, will take over as Chairman of the Management Board of Koenig & Bauer AG. Dr Andreas Pleßke, current CEO, will remain on the Management Board until his scheduled retirement at the end of 2025 and will take on special tasks until then.

New CFO: Dr Alexander Blum takes over finance department

Dr Alexander Blum will become the new CFO of Koenig & Bauer from 1 July 2025. He succeeds Dr Kimmich, who is moving to the position of CEO. Blum brings with him many years of experience from various industries, including IT, logistics and mechanical engineering - both in family businesses and in listed companies.

Already for the 1 May 2025 Dr Blum will take up his position to ensure a smooth transition.

Reduction of the Management Board to two members

As part of the programme announced in November 2024 Reorganisation The Management Board will be increased from five two members downsized. The Executive Board positions of Christoph Müller and Ralf Sammeck will be gradually eliminated by June 2025.

Restructured Group with two segments

The Group will be divided into two segments in future:

  • Special & New Technologies under the direction of Christian Steinmaßl
  • Paper & Packaging Sheetfed Systems under the direction of Markus Weiß

This new structure should enable the company to, more agile to market requirements to react.
