DFTA elects new executive committee

Rainer Wilke Kasanický was re-elected President of the DFTA Flexo Printing Trade Association. Dr Stefan Busse from Siegwerk is a new member of the Executive Committee. Some new members were also appointed to the extended executive committee.

The DFTA Flexodruck Fachverband e. V. (flexographic printing trade association) has elected a new executive committee at its general meeting. Rainer Wilke Kasanický was unanimously confirmed as President for a third term of office. Dr Stefan Busse (Siegwerk) was newly elected to the Executive Committee as Treasurer, while Jan Scharfenberg (Dupont) joined the Executive Committee for the first time.

In his speech, Kasanický thanked the members for their trust and reaffirmed his commitment: together with his colleagues on the Executive Committee and the management, he would continue to put his „heart and soul“ into promoting the interests of packaging printing - with a particular focus on flexographic printing.

In addition to the President, the Executive Committee also includes Dr Uwe Stebani (SGK) as Vice President and the newly elected Dr Stefan Busse (Siegwerk) as Treasurer. Other elected members of the Executive Committee are Dr Julia Eberhardt (Leeb), Christian Huth (Apex), Dieter Janout (Amagoo), Hermann Koch (Bobst), Dr Holger Kreilkamp (Windmöller & Hölscher) and new member Jan Scharfenberg (Dupont).

Following the general meeting, the executive committee was reconstituted and three additional members were co-opted: Doris Erhardt-Freitag (CCL Label), Prof Dr Martin Dreher (Stuttgart Media University) and Prof Dr Ingo Reinhold (HTWK Leipzig). Dreher and Reinhold are also scientific directors of the two DFTA competence centres in Stuttgart and Leipzig.

Farewell to long-standing members

With the new election, the association is also bidding farewell to two long-standing members of the Executive Committee: Prof. Dr Edgar Dörsam (TU Darmstadt) and Wilfried Schumacher, who was made an honorary member for his exceptional commitment.

Looking ahead: setting the strategic course

The new executive committee will meet in the near future to define the association's future strategy. In addition to the promotion of flexographic printing, the further development of research and training as well as positioning in a changing packaging market are likely to take centre stage.
